Activating your licence

Your licence, in one picture.

A key you type into the Expert Advisor, and the list of trading accounts it may run on, which you manage here.

Part one

Your licence key

Shown once

Press Show my licence key and copy it somewhere safe straight away. We keep no readable copy.

Lost it?

Press Issue a new key: twice in the licence's life, 30 days apart. The old one stops working at once; your accounts stay.

One key per licence

Each licence is for one Expert Advisor. Bought 3 or 10? One key covers all those accounts.

MT4 and MT5

Where an EA comes for both, the same licence and key serve both platforms.

Part two

Adding a trading account

On the Licences page, under Add a trading account: the account's login number, and the platform if the EA comes for both. Then Add account.

  1. You add the account numberthe number you sign in to MetaTrader with
  2. The EA connects onceand reports the broker's server
  3. Tied to that account, at that brokeryou never type the server name

A prop-firm challenge or funded account is added the same way: it takes one of your live places. The Expert Advisor works only on accounts in your list.

Live trading accounts

Demo accounts their own allowance, added by our support team, six months each

One licence covers one live trading account. Testing on a demo account does not use up a live place.

Changing an account

Just three rules

any timeA demo account

It works for six months from the day it is added. Release it whenever you like; a new one is added by support.

twice, 30 days apartA live account in use

Can be changed twice in the licence's life, at most once every 30 days. Need another change? Send a support request.

When an account is released, the Expert Advisor stops opening new trades on it within a few minutes. Trades already open continue to be managed until they close.

A licence has two parts: a key you type into the Expert Advisor, and the list of trading accounts it may be used on, which you manage in your account. A key on its own, without the account listed, does nothing.
Back-testing

The Strategy Tester works on a computer where the Expert Advisor has been authorised on a chart within the last few days, for the account that MetaTrader is signed in to. Attach it to a chart once, then test.

Quick answers

Questions

I lost my licence key. What now?

Press Issue a new key on the Licences page. The old key stops working at once; your trading accounts stay as they are. You can do this twice in the licence's life, at most once every 30 days; after that, send a support request.

Does a demo account use a live place?

No. Demo accounts have their own allowance, and each one works for six months from the day it is added. Our support team adds them: send a support request with the account number and the broker's server.

Can I move the licence to another broker?

Yes. Release the old account and add the new one. You can change the live account in use twice in the licence's life, at most once every 30 days; after that, send a support request.

Does the Strategy Tester need a licence?

It works on a computer where the Expert Advisor has been authorised on a chart within the last few days, for the account MetaTrader is signed in to.

Still stuck? We are one message away.

Send a support request from your account: it is linked to your licence, so we see what you see. Never send your broker password or your full licence key.
